Case studies and research
Before the software, a production line and 18 people in a plant that never stopped. That is where I learned what a constraint costs. Each case study includes the part I got wrong.
SIM-01 A project, played back A 26 week AGV rollout, replayed in about ninety seconds. The same project delivered two ways: payback 2.6 years against 10.7, with the capex barely moving. 2026 Interactive CS-01 Capacity recovery on a 24/7 glass line Around 100,000 more containers a year against benchmark, about A$500k of recovered capacity. Four SKU projects, one step at a time. Includes what I got wrong. 2020 to 23 Visy Glass CS-02 An A$200k flooring pilot, scaled site-wide A safety upgrade delivered around a line that could not stop, then rolled out to the whole factory. No baseline was measured, and that is the part I would do differently. 2020 to 23 Visy Glass RES-01 A standardised double materiality framework for CSRD MSc thesis and conference paper, run as a planned project for a simulated client. On schedule, within budget (SPI 1.00, CPI 0.97), and a mid-project regulatory change absorbed without moving the deadline. 2026 EAE Barcelona RES-02 3D printed pressure-tapped yacht sails Honours thesis for the University of Auckland's Yacht Research Unit. More than 45 CAD designs and ten printed models to replace hand laid composite sail models. 2018 BE(Hons) thesis
